A number of Drum Skid packages can be offered for various applications including dry powders and vaccines. At left is a design used for the protection of 4 x 200 litre open top Briggs drums, used to ship pharmaceutical powder in air-cargo. The design includes customs and QA tagout points for tamper evidence.
The Skid allows easy fork-lift handling from either side of the pallet. Without the skid, in-flight pressure changes would cause the lid to lift allowing the contents to discharge in the air-cargo hold. Specially designed pressure pads allow for a controlled expansion and contraction of the package.
Other designs integrate ramps and Drum Dolly storage to solve particular logistic difficulties.
Standard skid designs are available for the transport of multiple vaccine vessels.
